A consumer awareness campaign

Let's not
blink it.

Ten-minute delivery should not mean ten-second consent. If a quick-commerce app has overcharged you, short-delivered your order or refused a lawful refund, you have every right under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to say so — loudly, and on record.

What customers keep reporting

These are the patterns shoppers describe again and again across quick-commerce apps. If one of them happened to you, it is a documented consumer grievance — not bad luck.

Phantom handling fees

Rain fee, surge fee, small-cart fee, handling fee — stacked on top of an already inflated MRP, revealed only at the last checkout screen.

Missing & wrong items

You pay for ten items, eight arrive. Support closes the ticket with a scripted apology and no refund.

Refunds into 'wallet' only

Your money came from a bank account. Locking a refund inside app credit is not a refund — it is a retention tactic.

Expired or near-expiry stock

Perishables delivered a day or two from expiry, with a return window shorter than the shelf life.

Dark-pattern subscriptions

Pre-ticked memberships, auto-renewals and cancel flows buried three menus deep — exactly what the CCPA 2023 guidelines prohibit.

Price that changes on you

Same product, different price on two phones, at two times of day, with no explanation anywhere in the app.

Turn the anger into a filing

A tweet fades. A complaint number does not. Four steps, all free, all legal.

  1. 01

    Save the evidence

Screenshot the order, the invoice, the chat transcript and the refund refusal. Note the order ID and timestamps.

  2. 02

    Complain in-app, once

Give the platform one written chance in writing. Keep the ticket number — you will need it later.

  3. 03

    National Consumer Helpline

Call 1915 or file at consumerhelpline.gov.in / the NCH app. It is free and usually the fastest escalation.

  4. 04

    e-Daakhil, if unresolved

File formally at edaakhil.nic.in before the District Consumer Commission. No lawyer required, minimal fee.

Raise your voice

Share your experience publicly with the hashtag below, and tag the platform along with your ticket number. Public, factual, dated accounts are what regulators notice.
